Cordoba, Spain

One of the most memorable moments of my trip around Andalusia in 2022 happened in Cordoba. It was during my first evening there. I was travelling with my friend Dominic. We arrived in the afternoon and we were quite excited to explore the city for the next couple of days, and especially to visit the Mezquita, the famous mosque-cathedral of Cordoba. As we were wandering around in the evening, we saw a group of people with religious outfits walking towards the Mezquita; we decided to follow them, and as we arrived next to the mosque-cathedral, we realised that there was a procession that night in the city! We had the incredible luck to follow it, even inside of the Mezquita, with the smell of incense and the sound of prayers filling the air. It ws an incredible moment for both of us… Last but not least, it was also the period of carnival and we spent many hours that night going from one bar to another and enjoying the celebrations!
