North of Iceland – Mývatn to Akureyri

The region of Mývatn in the north of Iceland is one of the most interesting area of the country: there’s so much to see around this gorgeous lake! Volcanic and geothermic activity with craters and steam everywhere, solidified lava flows… and obviously waterfalls not very far. Akureyri, the second biggest town of Iceland, deserves also a visit with its lovely colourful houses and its very friendly traffic lights! Have a look at the pictures below to understand why…
