Miyajima, Japan
The island of Itsukushima, more popularly known as Miyajima (which means “Shrine Island” in Japanese) is located off the coast of Hiroshima, in the south of Japan. The few hours I spent there when I travelled around the country in 2018 remain among the best moments of my whole trip! Here are my favourite pictures of that day.

The grand torii of Miyajima at low tide. People can then walk all the way to the torii, but because of too many hands touching it or people trying to climb it, it contributes to fragilise it
